Featured Glass Artist Foxy Lady Designs

Gay Russell
Gay is a local glass artist here in SW Florida and is always a pleasure to work with.  Since she has found glass fusing, her work has grown by leaps and bounds.  Below are a few of her pieces and to view her whole collection, visit Foxy Lady Designs.  Learn more about Foxy Lady Designs below.
Many, many years ago when I was young and working and raising a family, I was always interested in crafting. Back then I had little time on my hands, however, I found the same satisfaction no matter what craft I was doing at the time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it relaxing, not tedious.

I found glass fusing, through a friend of mine whose daughter had just opened the AAE Glass Art Studio near where I live. From there on I was hooked on glass. I had no idea there were so many possibilities with glass fusing and I am still attempting to learn all of them.

The Cape Coral Art Scene has Serious Energy

The Paradise Tiki Hut Bar & Grill hosted a unique event last night that really brought some great energy to the art community of Cape Coral, Florida.  The event was put together with the idea of bringing artists of all kinds together.  This was a LIVE art show.  Artists were painting and demonstrating their works live around the pool, fire dancers twirled balls of fire in unison with the bass spewing from the speakers and to top it off, there was live break dancing every hour.  These guys were serious dancers and could walk on their hands as freely as they could on their feet.  All proceeds from the event went to American Cancer Society and judging by the turn out, they did all right.  AAE Glass was proud to be a small part of this event as we raffled off some finished pieces and free beginner class certificates. We talked to many people who were looking for a creative outlet and we provide just that.
We believe that making art fun and accessible to everyone is as important as anything when promoting and the Tiki Hut did just that.  Everyone at the event, young and old, had a level of energy that we don't typically see on a normal night out.  They were enthralled at the talent on display whether it be on a canvas or the dance floor.  Standing ovations were a common occurrence last night and every artist truly deserved it.  We hope to see more of these types of events here in Cape Coral, Florida because the number of talented artists in this area is great.

Featured Artist Deby Romaniw of Deby's Designs

Deby Romaniw
As a jewelry and glass artist from Northeast Ohio, I have been creating jewelry designs for over 30 years and am constantly evolving and learning new processes for my work. My interest in art and jewelry began in the late 70’s in my small home town of Saline, Michigan.
In an effort to experiment with new techniques, I enrolled in a couple glass classes taught by an internationally renowned glass artist in Florida. These new techniques have given me the creative spark I needed and have allowed me to create pieces with the "wow" factor for which all artists strive.
My enthusiasm for creating glass art is never ending and I plan to share my craft with as many budding glass artists as possible. I am really looking forward to teaching basic glass fusing to kids in the summer and some adult classes in the fall.
Within the next five years, Deby's Designs goal is to be the name known for art glass jewelry design in North Eastern Ohio.
